of PUGLIA…

Terra Madre Group
Terra Madre Group is the culmination of the long entrepreneurial and personal journey of Alessandro Paiano, a dynamic entrepreneur from Puglia with over twenty years of experience in the field. In the Itria Valley, a niche form of tourism has emerged, tailored to travelers, offering unique and evocative itineraries through the history, culture, ancient crafts, gastronomy, and nature of the region, allowing visitors to experience a Puglia that is both new and ancient.
These immersive experiences are carefully organized to explore the specific realities of the territory, bringing travelers into close contact with the authenticity of the Puglian land, in the spirit of the “professional traveler“.
Immersive experiences
A deep love for the Puglian land and an ethical commitment to reviving local traditions are the driving forces behind everything we do, fueled by the enthusiasm of sharing their beauty with visitors.
We believe in an immersive experience in the region, whether it be natural, architectural, cultural, or historical. We are inspired by the past: ancient recipes of traditional Puglian cuisine, old crafts, and historic homes, to weave together the threads of a new way of life.

Our Brands
The vibrant mosaic of Terra Madre Group is made up of the various activities developed over time: starting with Charming Tours, followed by Charming Trulli and Villas, leading to Trattoria Terra Madre and the Terra Madre Gardens, with many other challenges still evolving. Under a single brand, the well-integrated structure in the fields of travel, hospitality, and food envisioned, founded, and brought to success by Paiano from the 2000s to today continues to grow.
Sustainability
For years, we have been committed to environmental respect by adopting eco-friendly and low-impact solutions.

We offer walking, cycling, or eco-friendly transportation tours to promote sustainable tourism. We collaborate with local guides and suppliers to support the local economy and foster respect for the natural environment and cultural resources. Our activities are designed to have a low environmental impact and raise awareness of sustainability.
We use eco-friendly cleaning products and biodegradable materials to reduce environmental impact. For amenities, we use single-dose products in recyclable paper sachets made from olive oil. We inform guests about the sustainable practices we’ve adopted and involve them in eco-friendly activities to increase environmental awareness.
We practice organic farming without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Food waste and organic scraps are reused to create compost, contributing to a sustainable production cycle. We organize workshops and informational sessions on sustainable farming to educate the community. We cultivate a variety of plants to promote biodiversity, purchasing few seedlings as we reseed using seeds from previous years in seedbeds. We work the soil to ensure a depth of about 40 cm for the seedlings, which helps retain coolness and root moisture. Additionally, we have built two large wells to collect rainwater, contributing to water resource recycling.
We use seasonal ingredients from local producers to support the regional economy and ensure freshness and quality. Our dishes are made with zero-mile ingredients to reduce environmental impact. We implement waste reduction and composting practices to manage waste sustainably.
